José Ramos
Freelance Photographer
José Manuel Ramos graduated in Graphic Design in António Arroio Art School, and Photography and Cinema in Roque Gameiro Cultural Center.
Currently working as a freelance photographer in several projects, including BlackBox Project, is now focused in pursuing alternative imagery in different areas, exploring collaborations between photography and cultural multidisciplinary projects, and exploring author photography.
Early on, begin working as a designer at prestigious Regra do Jogo Publishing and Moraes Editores, followed by functions as assistant designer to Art Director Jaime Figuerola at Exame Publishing, Art Director at Abril Morumbi Publishing Corporation, and Senior Designer at groundbreaking Novodesign company. Winner of the Abril Prize of Journalism in Editorial Design category (1990/94).
Following a search for new challenges, made a major career shift towards photography, working as Photography Manager at Novodesign/Brandia (1997-2007), as resident photographer and photography producer focused in brand environment.
